Project Title and Theme:

The 2008 Feeding Program

Feeding program is a powerful influence on a child’s learning and how well a child performs in a school. The effect of under feeding on young children aged (0-8) years can be deviating and enduring in the area of cognitive development, when there isn’t enough food, the body has to make decision about how to invest the limited food staffs. FEEDING PROGRAM Description and problem to be addressed Feeding programs are basically conducted mostly on places on which poverty can be seen. Most of these projects are difficult to execute especially considering the supplies and resources to be used as well funds to conduct. The issue of food security and hunger has never been more crucial.

Healthy Body as the Foundation of Healthy Mind

Background and Rationale:

In realization of the 2001 Katipunan ng mga Kabataan and Sangguniang Kabataan’s General Objective – the KKP and SK shall be committed for the total development of the youth and John Dewey’s ethical contribution – the foundation of a healthy mind is a healthy body, it crosses our mind to conduct a Feeding Program that envisions for a healthy citizenry.

Individuals need to be physically healthy and mentally upright for them to function properly in our society, so this project was conceptualized to sustain and ensure that citizens of Lumbac are eating the right foods especially for the lowly and financially unstable.

The success of this project will be measure after three (3) long months. We will be able to see progress from the malnourished children as they gain weight. Undeniably, three months was too short to see progress, but this project also aspires to teach their families the importance of budgeting and providing healthy foods at a very minimal costs.

This year, SK plans to make this an annual activity to provide the youth a place for sustaining their nutritional needs. Making them pride of Lumbac.
